God’s Love: Beyond Human Comprehension

Updated: Jan 31, 2023

Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel pointed to God’s new covenant and its Agent, Jesus Christ. God’s plan to save those who call upon His name is extraordinary. It puts forth promises to Israel in the future, but it also provides salvation for all followers of Christ. We cannot possibly fathom His love.

In our fallen state, we are degenerate beyond words. Our rebellion, pride, and stubborn hearts are just a glimpse of the darkness in which we were born. Yet, God has chosen to reach out in grace and give a second chance to those who are born again.

The new covenant in Jesus Christ provides essentials for us that we cannot create on our own. The Holy Spirit enables us to love God and to embrace His Word. Wow, think about that…He even supplies us with the ability to love Him when we respond to His call! Beyond this, He enables us to engage a lifelong sanctification process that leads to His holiness and righteousness.

God’s plan for those who would listen and respond is perfect love!

Jer. 31:31-33

“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

Ezekiel 36:24-28

"For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God."

Luke 22:20

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood."

Matthew 26:28

…for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins

.

John 3:6-8

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it's going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.'
